Convention Policy
Thank you for your interest in Kollision! These rules are designed to help people be safe and let everyone have a good time. They apply to attendees, staff, vendors, artists, and guests alike.
Getting In Touch With Customer Service.Customer Service is here to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable experience at Kollision Con. If you need help or feel unsafe at any time, you can stop any Customer Service staffer (easily recognizable by their bright orange "Kollison Customer Service" shirts) for assistance.
General Rules
Respect one another.
Keep it PG unless you are in an 18+ area (such as a panel).
Anything that is illegal outside the convention is illegal inside the convention.
Do not do anything that risks the safety of yourself or other attendees.
Do not deface any hotel, convention center, or convention property. Anyone found to be responsible for defacing hotel, convention center, or convention property will be billed for the resulting damage and may be prosecuted for vandalism.
Only service animals are allowed to accompany human attendees.
Any musicians that chooses to perform in convention or hotel common space must keep their activities to a minimum noise level; additionally, content must be in good taste.
Musicians are strictly prohibited from tapping into local power (ie: wall sockets). Violators will be shut down and billed for use of power.
We reserve the right to shut down any musician for any reason including, but not limited to: obstructing traffic, noise levels, per request from the hotel.
We require anyone above the age of 16 to show a valid photo ID when you pick up your badge. If you are under the age of 16, we understand that you may not have a photo ID and do not require it. Customer Service may ask to verify your photo ID and badge at any time during the convention, so please keep your photo ID on you.
We reserve the right to inspect the contents of bags, backpacks, and purses. You have the right to refuse this inspection; we have the right to deny you entry upon refusal.
Curfew laws dictate that persons under 17 years of age, unless registered guests of the hotel or accompanied and supervised by a parent, legal guardian or other responsible companion of at least 18 years of age who is approved by a parent or legal guardian, must be off hotel grounds by midnight.
Kollision's only accepted proof of hotel residency is the minor's room key. If legitimacy is in question, the minor's room number may additionally be requested.
Cosplay
Cosplay at Kollision is a huge part of who we are. We love to see all the different costumes attendees come up with. We strive to find the right balance between letting you show off your amazing costumes and keeping safety a priority. If you aren’t sure whether your costume or prop is acceptable, stop by the Customer Service Information booth to find out for sure.
If your prop or costume is found unacceptable, you will be asked to take it back to your room or car. Being found with an unacceptable prop or costume multiple times may result in confiscation of the prop or revocation of your badge.
Confiscated props may be claimed from 3pm to 6pm, Sunday, at Convention Operations unless required by police for evidence. You must bring a government-issued photo ID to reclaim your prop.
For Masquerade specific rules, please refer to the Masquerade rules & policy.
No rude, vulgar, or hate speech in any language is allowed on costumes.
Costumes must conform to indecent exposure laws and ordinances.
Props and costumes must be handled in a safe manner.
Costumes should not have any harmful protrusions such as spikes or sharp edges.
Keep in mind that the hallways at Kollision can be very crowded. Please plan and wear your costume accordingly.
All signs are banned and are not allowed under any circumstance.
No live steel props are allowed at Kollision Con.
Live steel is any object crafted from metal with a blade-like or pointed edge, sharp or blunt.
Props made of an otherwise acceptable material (such as wood or foam) that are wrapped in foil do not count as live steel and are acceptable.
Exhibit Hall vendors may sell live steel. They are required to wrap or box purchased items before giving them to you, and you are required to keep them in the wrapping or box and return the items to your room or car immediately.
If you receive a live steel item from a vendor that was not properly wrapped or boxed, please contact Costumer Service or Exhibit Hall staffer immediately.
No real firearms are allowed at Kollision Con.
If you have a gun-like prop, please get it checked by Customer Service upon your arrival.
Gun-like props are required to be sufficiently unrealistic that a person must be able to tell that the prop is not real from across a room.
Gun replicas and airsoft weapons are required by law to have orange tips; in addition to this, they MUST be checked in upon arrival to the convention.
Airsoft weapons must never be loaded, and you must not carry any airsoft clips or ammunition on your person.
If you are law enforcement personnel or are otherwise required to carry a firearm on your person, please ask to see the Customer Service Department Manager upon arriving at the convention to prevent any misunderstandings.
Projectile weapons must be disabled and unloaded. For bows and crossbows, this means being unstrung or strung loosely. For water guns and similar props, this means having an empty reservoir.
Any bolts, arrows, or other projectiles must either be rendered unusable or secured in a quiver or other container in such a way that they are not removable for the duration of the convention.
Laser pointers and similar devices may not be used in the convention space.
Use of air horns, mega-phones, bull horns, vuvuzelas, whistles and other noise makers are strictly prohibited in all convention and common spaces.
Persons in violation of this rule will have the object confiscated, or may opt to have their badge pulled and ejected from the convention.
Illeagal Activity

You must be 18 to smoke. Smoking is not allowed inside the hotel (including inside your room), nor near entrances to the building.
You must be 21 to consume alcohol. No alcohol, open or unopened, is allowed in public areas. If you choose to drink, please do so at the hotel bar or in your own room, and do so safely and responsibly.
If you are found providing alcohol to a minor, you and the minor will be held for local law enforcement. Your badge will be revoked, you may be ejected from your hotel room and subject to prosecution.
If you have alcohol in your room, you are responsible for ensuring that everyone in the room is 21 or older.
No illegal drugs or related paraphernalia. If found with such materials, your badge will be revoked, you may be ejected from your room and subject to prosecution.
General Guidelines
The hallways at Kollision Con can be very crowded. The rules help minimize accidental injury and keep the convention safe. If a Kollision Con staff member, hotel employee, or local law enforcement officer tells you to stop a certain behavior, respect their requests. Refusal to do so or to follow any of the listed rules and guidelines may result in revocation of your badge and/or prosecution.
Ask First! for Pictures and Hugs.
You must maintain the common courtesy of asking permission to take a picture of someone before doing so. This also goes for hugs. If you didn't ask, don't do it!
No horseplay, "Glomping", play-fighting, or running anywhere in the convention.
Do not climb on, vandalize, break, modify, or disable any structures or fixtures.
Evening activities must remain at a low noise level. An excess of noise complaints may result in your ejection from your room.
Do not drop anything from the interior or exterior balconies of the hotel.
No props or bags at all are allowed inside the concerts or dances. If you need your bag for medical reasons, please see Customer Service to obtain a card explaining your reasons.
Only small props, along with walking sticks required for physiological reasons, will be conditionally allowed inside any of Kollision's large events (Concerts, Dances, Masquerade, etc.).
You may not save spots in any lines.
If you need to use the washroom or get a drink of water while in line, let a Customer Service staffer know prior to leaving the line, so you are not forced to reenter at the back of the line.
If you are cutting in line, you forfeit your right to attend the event.
There is no coat, bag, or prop check. Make sure you have only what you need when you get in line.
No crowd-surfing, moshing, or other endangerment of your fellow attendees is allowed.
No audio or video recording devices of any kind are allowed at concerts or dances. If you are seen taking pictures or recordings, you will be asked to leave the concert/dance and delete the offending images.
Have a great time!
Please exercise common sense, responsibility, and consideration for your fellow fans, hotel staff, convention staff, and other guests of the hotel.
If you feel that any Kollision attendee, artist, vendor, or staffer was unnecessarily rude: please approach a Customer Service staffer, any other Kollision staffer, or go to Convention Operations and ask to see a Manager, Department Manager, or one of the convention officers, and your concerns will be addressed.
We welcome your feedback. If you have questions, comments, compliments, or complaints, we invite you to e-mail us at Conchair@kollisioncon.com or post in the appropriate section of our forums.
Have a safe and fun convention, from everyone in Customer Service!
